In the New Age fraternity everyone has some thoughts and concerns with the closeness of the end of the Mayan Calendar on 21st December 2012. One thing hasn't been that clear and that is why this date and how could it have been determined so accurately.
I will be giving a talk about the changes that are to be expected at the New Spirit Festival held at the North Harbour Stadium, Albany on Sunday 3rd May at 3 pm. Here I decided to write an introduction from a very different angle so I am not overlapping in any way.
The Mayan Calendar began 11 August 3113 BCE., and is 5,125 years in length culminating on 21 December 2012 CE. The date marks a supposed end of space-time as we know it to be. The end-date also marks a linear moment when the long-term "precessional" orientation of the Earth's axis is perfectly aligned with the centre of the galaxy. This is when the Solar axis including the Earth passes through the Orbis Lacteus.
The calendar marks not only this linear time system but also an exponentially reducing one based on the harmonic power of phi or 1.6180339. To simplify this, since the beginning time has been spiralling in an ever decreasing sequence towards a singularity, like every spiral has a central point from which you can go no further.
Thus two separate time patterns have been operating concurrently. One measures material functions and the other measures consciousness. The spiralling effect is why everybody experiences a sharp increase in the speed and intensity of time. This effect has become particularly evident over the last three sectors from 1929 to 1971 a period of 42 years, then 1997 a period of 26 years, to 2012 a period of 15 years. Of course these periods are also not linear so each time period accelerates until we contact the singularity at the end date. What is essentially happening is a acceleration in the energetic rate of vibration, which will culminate in a discontinuous mega-event where "time and space collapse" as we know it.
It is exciting to realise that under the French-Swiss border, located at Cern is the Large Hadron Collider, the largest scientific experiment ever built. The last of the experiments to explore extra dimensions was due to happen at the beginning of 2012 but after a failure and repair is due to restart in September, 11 months later than originally scheduled. This takes the last experiment to the beginning of December 2012, somehow a critical time.
There have been all sorts of predictions about how it could create a black hole that consumes us all, but this alarmism holds little credibility. What this experiment explores is the existence of parallel dimensions beyond the three we normally experience. What is likely to occur is an enormous amount of knowledge that we may be unprepared to assimilate.
I suggest that the Large Hadron Collider experiment called Atlas is the mega-event predicted by the Mayans which precipitates a collapse of time and space, not as a physical reality but within the realms of consciousness.
Thus, it becomes psychological knowledge that consciousness exists beyond the realms of gravitational limitations in what science calls the three dimensional brane, a description of length, breadth and depth projected through a continuum of time. Escaping the limitations of the brane inside of consciousness will lead us to a certainty that we, humanity or even all sentient being at whatever level of consciousness, as a total unit create the universe in which we experience.
If that certainty becomes a common understanding then our normal limitations created by uncertainty and doubt will evaporate and we will be left standing with the most awesomely powerful creative and destructive potential. How we interact with one another will determine the longevity of the New Epoch. 3113 BCE was said to be the beginning of the Kali Yuga and 2012 is its end. Then we return into the first Golden Yuga. Ah! The mind boggles.
