All I want for Christmas is to be overweight

Sunday, November 22nd 2009 @ 8:50 AM (2 ratings)    post viewed 576 times

In fact I was hoping to be overweight before Christmas...

Another 3 or 4 kilos lost and I would be in the "overweight" zone rather than "obese" (according to my body mass index calculator). But now it looks like I'm not going to make it. If I want to be eating "normally" for the festive season, then I need to stop my eating plan this week.

That's because once I make the decision to stop taking the doses of hCG, I need to do 3 days on the same 500 calorie regime (without the hCG) then 3 weeks of the next stage - what Kevin Trudeau calls Phase 3. Apparently it takes 3 days for the hCG to leave your system. That will take me through to the week leading up to the Christmas break, when I will finally have finished.

I must admit that I'm slightly disappointed that I haven't lost more. I seem to have been doing two steps forward, one step back with my results. For example three days ago I put on 400g, the next day lost 500g, the last two days lost just 100g a day. Painfully slow. And the only cheating I have done in the whole 48 days has been the occasional glass of wine and the odd sachet of sugar when I've forgotten to take my stevia to the coffee shop. I must admit that I have struggled to drink enough water each day, don't know why but I have a problem with that, and that may be one of the reasons I haven't done as well as I think I should have.

In Phase 3 I can eat whatever I want, and lots of it. Except any starches or sugars. So no breads, pastas, potatoes, etc. I need to radically increase my protein intake, because I've been teetering on the edge of starvation for 48 days now and my body will start piling on the fat if I don't keep it supplied with the right stuff. So lots of eggs, butter, oils, meat and fish. I haven't had any oils for the last 7 weeks (not even on my skin) and so I'm really looking forward to some oily fish and lashings of olive oil and coconut oil on everything.

I still have to weigh myself every day on Phase 3. If my weight increases by over 2 pounds (about a kilo) then I have to do a "steak day", which means eating nothing until dinner time then consuming the most massive steak I can find, with one raw apple. That should fix it.

So what's next? In total I have lost 15 kilograms since I started 7 weeks ago. Two and a bit kilograms a week is pretty good going, but it's not enough - I need to lose the same amount again before I can feel that I'm at a healthy weight. So I have already resolved to do another round early next year.

Don't get me wrong, though - even though I might seem disappointed, I am really pleased with my results. I would recommend this weightloss protocol wholeheartedly to anybody. I now weigh less than I have done for about 7 years, and it has been easy. I'm much more energetic, I am breathing easier, my arthritis has improved (if not totally gone) and above all I feel much much better about myself. My self-image has improved remarkably.

(As an aside, Marie just shouted out to me as she left for work that I can have 77 grams of radishes for lunch today with my steak. Yum.)

This is probably going to be my last blog on this subject - until I start over agin anyway, so if you need to know any information about hCG or the Simeons weight loss programme, just ask. I'm no expert, but I'd be happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability.
