Described as 'Mardi Gras meets haute couture', New Zealand's Brancott Estate World of WearableArt (WOW) Awards Show is a unique creative event that has become a global phenomenon.

“Taking art off the wall “

From humble beginnings 20 years ago, the World of WearableArt was originally conceived by Nelson sculptor Suzy Moncrieff as part of a promotion for a rural art gallery. Moncrieff devised the idea of taking art off the wall and adorning the human form, and since then the show has grown to becomeNew Zealand's largest and most dynamic art event.

The idea for this weekend is to enjoy, with laughter and new friends.

Peru with Gail Nicholls. August 2014....

Peru ~ August 2014 Tour With Gail

Mexico is now in the past and a new year gets me into thinking about this years diary dates.

I have decided Peru calls again… I usually go every 3 years so here it is, time to return to this amazing and vibrant country. The sounds of pipe flute music, the food and colour, the history and sites we visit, the diverse transport and activities we do, cater for all walks of life. There are cheap flights at the moment and so I feel the need to let everyone know I am going. If you are keen to join us, the group is forming fast and so as I keep the numbers down, no more 26 – 28 in a group! (takes too long to get us all up in the air for the Nasca line flight etc. , and so we kiss a day goodbye) …. but around 12 – 15 at the most.

If you are keen and would like to add your name to the list please let me know….NO commitment, just a genuine keen wish to go and see Machu Pichu for yourself and know more.

Basic itinerary will be… leaving in August as best weather then. (not confirmed as yet)

*Auckland - Lima – Ica – Nasca Line flight – Arequipa – Puno - Lake Titicaca – Tiwanako ( Bolivia) – Cusco - Sacred Valley – 2 nights at Machu Pichu - Amazon Eco lodge experience – Santiago, and visit a crystal mine –home.

*Plane - Public First Class Coach – Private Coach – Nasca Lines 4-6 seated over flight – train- motorised canoe.

*3 – 4 star Hotels for “Location” and comfort. Breakfasts and some meals.

*Private guides and myself to see to your every need.

*Caters for all levels of fitness…..High altitude is not a problem as we go slowly up and not  straight to Cusco like many other tours do. Plenty of walking on the sites though.

*Usual payment -  flights as asked by the company. (around $2000) 50% deposit, and rest in cash or bank card on arrival. The Agent I have worked with now for all tours to Peru, are working on the tour and costs now.

 * I take a video of the tour, along with a booklet, and a meeting of the group before we leave. Single folk, I can organize a room mate for you…. age means nothing to me, just be reasonable fit and a fabulous attitude to have fun, explore and experience everything on offer. I am now in my 14th year of doing these tours…..many folk toured with me many times.

If you are interested in knowing more, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me on either   or +64 9 535 4065     ( 021 537 055)

Come dance with the sound of Flute Pipe music.....

Thought of the Month of January 2014

Monday, January 6th 2014 @ 3:07 PM (not yet rated)    post viewed 1996 times

I trust you all had a great Christmas and New Year and looking forward to 2014 with fired up enthusiasm and excitement. It seems like only a few years ago we all heralded in the new millennium of the year 2000.

So, a new year has begun and the weather is amazing. What a mixture of experiences world wide. Snow in New York, to heat waves in Australia. The weather man is having a field day trying to predict what to expect! It has become so unpredictable, that it is we wake up in the morning and poke our face outside to see for ourselves now! Even then the day can start with bright sunshine and then the next the wind blowing a few tents down, as we scurried to pull down before damage was extreme! An hour later all sunny and still again! Such was our camping experience 5 hours inland south from Brisbane. The themometer rose to just over 40 degrees as we wallowed in the river to keep cool and in New York, down below zero!

I sometimes wonder if man is playing around with the weather patterns, (read “Angels Don’t Play This HAARP ” written by Jeane Manning and Dr. Nick Begich, a very good and mind blowing book on Tesla technology) as this technology is now world wide. We understand that we are “lacking in food to feed the many who are starving”, and should not be! So making two summer seasons to grow more crops, to eliminate starvation, I will never accept mankind in playing a round with nature. We have 4 seasons for a reason, The land needs to rest but they put fertilizers in the soil and spray with insecticides etc. all are creating allergies etc as well as the land will one day become a dust bowl!

The wastage we create on a daily basis is enough to feed all those who have nothing! I watched some folk over Christmas as they emptied their fridges etc of food, still edible but needed to be disposed of to be able to load the shelves up with the Christmas feast leftovers! I also saw folk run the tap as precious water ran down the drain by the litre, with even the meter running adding to the monthly account without a worry even on the waste of money! Mountains of gifts piled in front of children where they do not know what to play with …..makes one think of those who had nothing under their illusional tree! I shudder at the thought of all those who have nothing as we so much.

I think to myself, is it to do with Karma! That some choose to come for the experience of being constantly hungry and so HAARP is a good thing? But then is it also OUR Karma to spread our wealth and have the experience of giving to those have nothing? At the end of the day (or life) we ARE all answerable to our actions and what we do with our lives, so here it is January and a time we should all make New Year resolutions… changes we can make. It is a time to reflect and become proactive in our society. What we do is our own choice and business, but believe me at the end of the day we all go “home" and reflect on our lives. What we missed, didn’t do well or created. If we do not help in some way to make our world a better place then we will be answerable to this. If we do the best we can we are thanked and so able to move along on the pathway we call “LIFE” which we experience many.

So, if those playing around with the weather are wrong, God help them. If not, then we choose to come to live a life in the now, and experience weather changes as Earth hurtles along a path towards enlightenment, as we cling on tightly experiencing everything that is thrown at us. But at the end of this life, we will reflect in what we did or did not do in this life time… so a new year is a time to reflect on the past year and make changes in the new year…. So, go out there and enjoy life and this beautiful planet of ours and see what a difference YOU can make.

Talk to you next month, so go outside and smile, enjoy the summer season, and be happy we have water and food on our tables.New Zealand surely is “God’s Zone’.

God Bless
