had the pleasure of meeting Thelma about 5 years ago.  At the time, everything I wore was BLACK,  and I mean EVERYTHING.   Even my corporate uniform was black,   I was in a very unhealthy relationship,  a challenging job, my finances were a mess and when I look back, I believe I was suffering depression as well.

Thelmas warmth and honesty, and encouragement, gradually got me incorporating colour into my life.   This is one of the best investments I have ever made in myself, and still use and apply even now.    From clothing to accessories, and furnishings for home, and when going out for presentations, or doing events.

I love the joy that has come back into my life,   just from understanding what colours I need and when.        Whether you are you lacking something in your life, but not sure what, or even want to succeed at that job interview, or a new client your trying to bring on board, or how to get the money to flow into your life better.

You just don't know how these things can affect you.

Looking forward to sharing more with you all.

Passion and Excitement with the Colour Red

Thursday, September 17th 2009 @ 10:07 AM (not yet rated)    post viewed 779 times

Red is the colour of energy, passion, love and fast cars.  Red communicates courage, enthusiasm, power and speed.  It also commands attention.  Therefore it gives an image of excitement, enthusiasm and happiness.

Red also stimulates our senses so in general our sense of smell, touch and taste are heightened when surrounded with the colour red. So don't use red in your dining area if you don't want to overeat, or are trying to lose weight.

Red is also related to the blood and if you are low in energy, you can eat red foods, or you can even dress or use red clothing.

Red food can increase your levels of energy, drive and vitality.   Foods such as red meat, beetroot, radishes, red peppers, cherries, tomatoes, strawberries, chilli peppers, kidney beans, raspberries, clove, cumin .  When feeling light headed low in energy or low in stamina, red is stimulating, warming and strengthening for the body.

Mars is called "The Red Planet" and rules passion, sex drive and even aggression (seeing red)

Clothes: People who predominantly wear the colour red are often energetic persons with a passion for life.

They command attention and display determination and will power to get what they want.  They want to excel in everything they do and thrive on attention and admiration.  They are able to materialise their ideas, they will find ways to make things happen.

Chakras: Red is also the colour normally associated with the Base Chakra,  or is a good colour to help us to stay grounded, or connected to mother earth.  This is the centre where we keep our feet on the ground, centred and balanced in our thoughts and activities.  In this way we are able to be fully present with each activity, which in turn gives us more enthusiasm, drive, passion and excitement.

There is much written on the Chakra System, so if you don't know too much about them, google is a fantastic source to learn more.

Crystals and Gemstones that can also assist are bloodstone, coral, Fire Opal, Garnet, Red Jasper, Rhodonite, Rhodochrosite, Rubellite, Ruby and Sardonyx.

Though these each have their own individual properties, it is the red influence that we are sharing here.

So whenever you feel low in energy, enthusiasm and passion for life, you could start to integrate this colour into your life through clothes and accessories, furnishings, foods and gemstones.

Marketing and communication with the Colour Blue

Friday, September 11th 2009 @ 8:42 PM (not yet rated)    post viewed 584 times

HOW COLOUR CAN INFLUENCE YOUR EMOTIONS AND THOUGHT PATTERNS.

Blue is widely used in marketing because it portrays a sense of trust and dependability. Blue is the colour of the sky and the sea and therefore perceived as a constant in our lives, reminding us to go with the flow of life. We feel calm while watching a clear blue sky or water and in marketing the colour blue is perceived as being trustworthy and reliable.

The colour blue has a relaxing influence on us and therefore is used to market products that are related to being calm and relaxation or meditation and stillness. If life feels chaotic and crazy, try incorporating shades of blue, even just taking 10 minutes to close your eyes, take some nice deep breaths, wrapping yourself in a big blue blanket, (if you don't have one you could try visualizing being surrounded by blue - imagine a nice crisp clear blue ocean, or looking up at a perfect cloudless sky)

The colour blue is related to cleanliness and freshness therefore you see this colour in toothpastes, designer drinking water, and cleaning products.

Blue is also related to communication, and the 5th chakra or the throat area, so speaking up, or speaking ones truth and therefore you will see that companies in communications will often use this colour to portray their skills in reaching out to more people.

If you have any kind of event where you are speaking or have issues with communication, you could try incorporating the shades of blue particularly on the top part of your body (blouse, shirt, jacket). If you are restricted to a certain colour of corporate wear or uniform, you can still effectively use colour in what you choose for your under clothing, jewellry, ties, or accessories for the same desired effect.

Be colourful Be you!
