Yellow is one of the primary colours and perceived as Cheerful, Fresh, Joyous, Happy and Fun.
This colour is strongly associated with bright sunshine, The MR Smiley Logo, and yellow is the colour of many spring flowers like daffodils, narcissi and primroses.
The colour yellow has to do with being confident, cheerful, joyous and having an optimistic approach to life.
If you are needing some order in your life this is a great colour to stimulate logical thinking and concentration. If you need to be focused and concentrate, yellow helps to do this. Yellow is therefore suitable for schools and libraries.
When there is disorder in our lives it can create anxiety and restlessness. On the other hand, more focus and a structured lifestyle can bring emotional happiness and stability giving you a sense of contentment.
Chakras
Yellow is also the colour normally associated with the 3rd Chakra, or the sacral chakra. This is all about Honouring thyself or your own personal power and self esteem. "Manipura" is the sanskrit name for this chakra which translates to "lustrous gem", This relates wonderfully as we all endeavour to stand tall in the beauty of self with which we arrived into this world purely "Joyous and Loving" that we are ALL a "Lustrous Gem".
Crystals and Gemstones that can also assist are Citrine, Topaz, Tigers Eye, Yellow sapphire, Yellow Zircon, Gold and Gold Topaz. Though these each have their own individual properties, it is the red influence that we are sharing here.
So whenever you feel you need more Joy, Optimism and Cheerfulness, you could start to integrate this colour into your life through clothes and accessories, furnishings, foods and gemstones.
