TAO OF THE TRAVELLER is a film celebrating the great spiritual traditions of the mystical poets of East and West: the worlds of Rumi and Tagore, of Emily Dickenson and Saint Theresa, through one young woman's remarkable journey.

It was just an ordinary day when a young woman leaving university finds an old manuscript launching her on adventure into a world which we thought only belonged to a handful of poets and the occasional mystic. On her journey across the snowy mountains and beaches of New Zealand, the ancient rainforests and the great boulder strewn plains of Australia, and the mango woods and villages of India, she discovers an internal pathway, mirrored in the natural world around her. The journey was higher and deeper, harder and easier, more wondrous and more alone than anything she could have imagined. It changed everything.

TAO OF THE TRAVELLER won two awards at the 2008 Accolade Film Festival in the US, in the Reasearch and Experimental categories. The film recently screened in competition at the South African International Film Festival, and earlier in the year at the Fallbrook Film Festival in California.

Dave Clayton of 'Simply Red' scores the film, beautifully supporting the majesty and gentle wit of Barbara Bossert's poetic script.

The Film Leading Actor: Tamasin Ramsay
Tamasin's acting career included Aussie classics like Dimboola, Return to Eden and Neighbours. Tamasin has just returned from undertaking her PhD fieldwork in New York and Orissa researching spirituality during times of disaster.

Special guest: Sudesh Didi
For 50 years, Sudesh Didi has been a meditator and teacher with the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, which is administered by women. She has travelled in over 75 countries, addressing international conferences and realising her lifelong dream to follow a spiritual path and serve humanity.
