Celebrate climate action at Western Park, Ponsonby, Auckland this Saturday 6th December from 11am-1pm
350 parts per million (ppm) is the safe concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere for the planet. The current global concentration is 387ppm and increasing at 2ppm each year. Let's turn it around!
This year for the first time, Auckland will take part in the global celebration of climate action. Join us in Western Park, Ponsonby from 11am until 1pm for a fun-filled and family-friendly event.
Bring a bike and join Auckland's first ever Frocks on Bikes parade down Ponsonby Road, a glittering spectacle of Frocks on Bikes showing drivers that actually, bikes are a fabulous way to get around. It will kick off at 11:50 (assembly and photos 11:30) at Western Park on Ponsonby Road.
The 350 Climate Action Challenge joins a movement of millions around the world on the Global Day of Action on Climate Change urging effective action from world leaders at the United Nations climate negotiations in Poznan, Poland.
Bring your kids and they'll find plenty of activity too (in fact, the event coincides with the Ponsonby Christmas festival!) At Western Park you will find information stalls, music and the creation of a "350" banner to be presented on the day. Add your hand-print and take the 350 Challenge.
The festivities run from 11am – 1pm.
