You may not be aware that the ACC Minister, Nick Smith is reviewing ACC spending in relation to Chiropractics, Osteopathy and Acupuncture with the view to pull it from the ACC list of accepted practices labelling them as Complimentary and Alternative Medicines.
The Minister was quoted in the Press, in relation to the movement away from conventional healthcare, as saying : “The argument that people are voting with their feet is not enough for me to be satisfied”.
Regardless of what your personal views on ACC are, Health Freedom NZ take the view that any movement away from accepting modalities not in mainstream medicine as a dangerous threat to your freedom and rights to healthcare choices. It is indeed a move away from accepting these modalities into mainstream.
We therefore ask for your help once again to rally together and send a barrage of letters from our members to the ACC Minister, Nick Smith and let him know your thoughts.
I you live in the Nelson area we suggest you even go visit your local MP, Nick Smith, and educate him to the value of health freedom and natural medicines and healing practices.
Action Alert:
We have emailed the following letter to the Minister. We have also followed up with sending the letter in the post. We have heard that some MP’s ignore emails but letters have to be answered. We don’t know where this Minister sits with answering his emails.

And to post the letter: Honorable Nick Smith Minister ACC Parliament Buildings Wellington

I would like to see a system of meritocracy in place here rather than automatic free funding for doctors, physios, osteopaths and acupuncturists.
A qualification in a particular field in no way implies you are going to deliver good health outcomes.
I would like to see practitioners getting good health outcomes get funding.....but hang on ......that might make them lazy.......yet I know alot of people needing treatments are missing out because of money.
So I would rather just see a health coupon given to the patient who has had an accident.
That way if I have an injury, I can go to a practitioner who works with a thorough physical therapy and proven pain and injury technologies and nutrients.
